we all know the magic a little self love and TLC can do, and now that we're stuck in what feels like a real life version of Groundhog Day it's more important than ever.
So we here at Sahii have come up with some fun lockdown self care inspo that gets you feeling great and doesn't break any of the rules.
1. Bubble bath and Wine
Now this may possibly be one of my favourite combinations. A hot bath and a cold glass of wine, I honestly don't know if there's a better duo!
2. Self Hug
Literally what it says on the tin. Hug yourself, when, if ever have you hugged yourself? Our bodies do so much for us without us having to ask. They are constantly rejuvenating, healing and protecting us. Spend literally 5 minutes before bed, and wrap your arms around yourself and squeeze your body, thank it for doing all that it does for you, from your toes to your fingertips every inch of you is amazing, spend time with that thought and allow your body to soak up all the love.
3. Face Mask and Pizza
Pizza always gets me in a good mood, and face masks make eating pizza feel like a spa experience. Can life be any more Boujee?
4. Learn a TikTok Dance
I know this might possibly sound like the most cringest thing a 30 year old woman could suggest but in all honesty its just about having fun and being silly, it doesn't have to be a TikTok Dance could be anything but the important thing is, it gets your body moving and makes you giggle.
5. Ayurvedic Body Massage
An Ayurvedic Body massage is simply an oil body massage, in Sanskrit, the word sneha can be translated as both “oil” and “love.” So in Ayurveda, there is an inherent connection between enveloping the body in oil and enveloping it in love. Try it in the evening before your shower
6 . Mirror Compliment
When was the last time you looked in the mirror and said "Hey Beautiful, I love you! you're doing amazing" don't wait for someone else to compliment you, be your own biggest fan.
7. Shower Concert
Most possibly why I love to shower so much! Get a little bluetooth speaker put it on loud, or even just put your phone in a glass ( apparently the glass makes the music sound louder! I know is there anything science can't do!) and sing your heart out to your favourite song.
8. Hot Cookie Dough Dessert and Netflix-
If you've never had Pizza Hut Cookie Dough dessert, then where have you been?! & you're so missing out, but not to worry I found a copycat recipe for your to enjoy!
Ingredients
125 g butter
100 g caster sugar
100 g light brown sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
225 g plain flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
100 g milk chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to gas mark 6/200 C.
Combine the butter, sugars, egg, vanilla extract in a small bowl or food processor and combine till mixed. (This is just to combine the ingredients, Do not over mix).
Fold in the flour, salt and baking powder making sure everything is mixed in well.
Sprinkle in the chocolate chips.
Add the mixture to 4 small ramekins or a greased/lined 20cm cake tin and press down.
Bake for 12 - 15 minutes.
Top with Ice-cream, put on a binge worthy Netflix series or Film and enjoy every delicious spoonful.
9. YouTube Yoga or Thai Chi
Morning Thai Chi or yoga is great way to get your mind and body in sync and to bring positive and calming energy into your day. I love Thai Chi just because it feels so therapeutic and I'm also one of those hippy energy believing people, so I just love the way it makes me feel especially if I am able to do it outside or near an open window ( all about breathing in those positive vibes)
For those interested in Thai Chi I've got you covered, here's one of my favourite videos to do.
As you can see Self care doesn't have to be anything special or even expensive, it just has to be something that makes you whole heartedly feel good.
